Job Title: Lead Aircraft MX Technician - Second Shift

Department: GE Test Cell

Reports To: Powerplant Manager

To oversee the daily operations over his/her area in the shop / Test Facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with an assigned crew to ensure projects achieve quality work on time and on budget.
  • Ensuring company and FAA procedures are all followed.
  • Ensuring that productivity and budget are satisfactory.
  • Monitoring personnel for attendance and evaluating Crew Members.
  • Keeping a clean, safe work environment at all times. Recommending improvements needed to increase performance, quality, etc. To the Supervisors.
  • Reporting any problems affecting projects to Supervisors.
  • Ensuring personnel all following instructions and performing tasks in a safe, efficient manner.
  • Ensuring that waste materials, oils, fluid, etc. are handled correctly
  • Performing other duties as required/requested by the Supervisor.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have at least 1-year experience in a test cell environment and verified by adequate training records.
  • Must hold at least an FAA Powerplant License.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • Must hold a valid US driver’s license.
  • Must be adept and proficient on the use of technical data/manuals.
  • Must be available for flexible hours and weekends.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must have a positive and professional attitude, good leadership skills, and work well with others under minimal supervision.
  • Must be a self-motivator and have competent problem-solving skills.
  • Must have a good attendance history.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Must have the ability to read, write, and understand spoken English.
  • Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Must have the ability to understand verbal and written instructions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, stand, walk, talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work is performed primarily in a shop environment and maintenance setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
