Job Summary

 

The Aircraft Maintenance Technician functions as an FAA certified airframe and powerplant mechanic, performing FAA required inspections and repairs of all aircraft assigned to the School of Aviation & Transportation Technology.  Will instruct aviation maintenance students as assigned by supervisor or the Director of Maintenance.  Perform ancillary functions relative to the operation of the Purdue University aircraft fleet including: towing aircraft, ground deicing, aircraft cleaning, fueling, hangaring, and security. Assist in recordkeeping functions of aircraft maintenance, FAA regulations, aircraft service bulletins, service letter and manuals. Assist in maintenance of ground support equipment and physical facilities.


This position will hire at an Associate or Specialist level and offers a salary in the range of $55,000 to $65,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications

Education and Experience

Qualified candidates will need:

Associate
•    HS Diploma / GED
•    Federal Aviation Administration Aircraft Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant Ratings. 

Skills needed:
•    Computer literacy with MS office products. Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
•    Valid Driver’s License.


Specialist
•    HS Diploma / GED. 
•    3 years of experience as an Airframe and Powerplant mechanic in aviation maintenance required.


Skills needed:
•    Computer literacy with MS office products. Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
•    Valid Driver’s License.
