The post holder will be an experienced and skilled Avionic Technician and Supervisor undertaking a range of detailed maintenance activities on <\/span>aircraft<\/span> or <\/span>aircraft<\/span> components.<\/span><\/span> <\/span>
<\/p>


<\/div><\/div>

The post holder <\/span>requires<\/span> an excellent understanding of the approved data set and is competent to supervise personnel carrying out maintenance instructions <\/span>in accordance with<\/span> the organisation’s regulatory framework. He <\/span>is responsible for<\/span> tasking of work & supervision of personnel/people management. Responsible for meeting agreed delivery targets at a tactical level.  Demonstrates people management and leadership skills. Demonstrates awareness of broader external dependencies and <\/span>identifies<\/span> areas for continuous improvement.  In addition, the post holder may have certain privileges delegated from the Maintenance Manager.<\/span><\/span> <\/span>

Demonstrates a distinct ability to analyse and diagnose faults to equipment & assemblies, follow diagnostic procedures and work effectively within a team. <\/span>Provide<\/span> guidance to less experienced team members in a diverse and dynamic operational environment.<\/span><\/span> <\/span>

Key Accountabilities:<\/b>
<\/div>
  • Undertaking detailed maintenance, inspection and supervision activities on the Typhoon <\/span>aircraft<\/span> or <\/span>aircraft<\/span> components. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Assuring work carried out has been completed <\/span>in accordance <\/span>with<\/span> the tasking / Work package using the relevant approved technical information.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Resolving faults and maintenance issues, including configuration management<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Maintaining a personal <\/span>Log Book<\/span> to <\/span>demonstrate<\/span> currency and recency, on completion of <\/span>On the Job<\/span> training (OJT) activities, sign other personnel’s <\/span>Log Books<\/span> as <\/span>appropriate within<\/span> your trade and skills boundaries. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • If you are an approved designated assessor, undertake authorisation and task competency approvals, and check Pt 145 license application packs prior to submission<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Undertaking and complete tasked maintenance & diagnostic activities on <\/span>an aircraft<\/span> or components which may include, as <\/span>appropriate<\/span>, <\/span>aircraft<\/span> ground handling, flight servicing, <\/span>aircraft<\/span> role changes, <\/span>component<\/span> removals, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectifications, replacements and/or functional/system test<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Supervising team to ensure that maintenance is undertaken to schedule and highlight any issues, escalate as <\/span>required<\/span>. Report on any impact to the wider programme.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Demonstrating a flexible and proactive attitude to carrying out responsibilities <\/span>appropriate to<\/span> the role and takes direction appropriately<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Ensuring staff are sufficiently competent and approved for the maintenance tasks <\/span>allocated<\/span> to them<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Maintaining personal & teams task authorisation for working on <\/span>aircraft<\/span> or components <\/span>in accordance with<\/span> regulatory requirements<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Responsible for meeting agreed delivery targets in the short to medium term through the supervision of others<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Undertaking support tasks within the <\/span>aircraft<\/span> or <\/span>component<\/span> maintenance facility which are <\/span>required<\/span> to <\/span>maintain<\/span> compliance with the MOE <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Provide<\/span> guidance and leadership to the team. Develops team members using formal assessment processes. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Demonstrates sound and comprehensive communication and people management skills <\/span>in order to<\/span> exchange complicated information<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Undertaking fault evaluation and raise ad hoc work cards for ‘found faults’ during maintenance<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • ​<\/span><\/span>Ability to scope and carry out independent and vital inspections<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

    Requirements<\/h3>
    • Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship, ideally in Aeronautical Engineering or Military equivalent apprenticeship / qualifications. Academic qualification for this role is a minimum of City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance or equivalent. <\/span>Aircraft<\/span> platform training (On a/c <\/span>requirement)<\/span><\/span>Requires<\/span> a minimum of 2 years working at Supervisor level prior to undertaking this role<\/span><\/span> <\/span>

    • Requires broad and in -depth product knowledge/competency within own technical/subject area. Awareness of how the team integrates with others <\/span>in order to<\/span> achieve the overall <\/span>objectives<\/span> of the area and <\/span>demonstrates<\/span> an understanding of the requirement for continuous improvement and its application<\/span><\/span> <\/span>

    • Typhoon Avionic Trade ‘Q’ Course or equivalent.<\/span><\/span> <\/span>
