SUMMARY
The technical & environmental operations senior manager serves as the primary resource for NBAA members in the areas of environmental sustainability and aviation asset management; aircraft, facility and maintenance personnel. Responsibilities include development of products and services, educational conferences, technical policies and collaboration with industry stakeholders. Additionally, provides assistance with NBAA’s regulatory efforts with the FAA, EPA, ICAO, and others as required to support these topic areas.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: ○ Coordinates and authors high-quality, technically sound responses to Federal and international aviation policy proposals.
○ Represents the association in key technical forums and industry events to to develop consensus proposals reflecting the needs and concerns of the business aviation industry.
○ Participate in industry events.
● Acts as the primary NBAA technical advisor to the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC), advisor to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Council on Aviation Environmental Protection (CAEP) to assist in developing positions and plans that provide general aviation community manufacturers and operators’ perspective on new products and operational parameters.
● Manage the day-to-day operations and execution of maintenance and environmental committee activities, ensuring clear communication, project tracking, and effective task completion.
● Manages the full program lifecycle, including content, speakers, budget tracking, and flawless logistical execution of the annual event(s).NBAA Maintenance Conference and Sustainability Summit(s)
● Travel approximately 25% per year.
● Prepares payment request forms and purchase orders

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Specific requirements include but are not limited to:
● Four-year accredited bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Management or related four-year Aviation/Aerospace Degree
● Working knowledge of aviation, including environmental sustainability, aircraft maintenance, and asset management
● General understanding of flight operations
● Ability to travel up to 25% annually
● Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
● Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
● Proven ability to build and maintain positive working relationships
● Innovative and adaptable approach to work
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Google tools)
● Experience working with databases and managing data accurately
EXPERIENCE
● Demonstrated proficiency level equivalent to 5 to 7 years of experience in the complexities of small, large, private and commercial flight operations with emphasis on aviation asset management (maintenance and operations)
● Familiarity with aviation carbon emission reduction efforts.
● Experience in aviation regulatory frameworks, working groups, and aviation industry associations.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
● FAA Certificates (i.e., Airframe & Powerplant, Inspector Authorization and Pilots Certificates.
● Environmental sustainability and/or aviation asset management specialty courses (i.e., NBAA CAM, ASTM certificates, aircraft model specific courses, etc)
