Overview

The primary role of the Operational/PBS SAFA is to provide valuable support to Flight Attendants. They do this by improving operational performance and assisting Flight Attendants with PBS Bidding. They also assist with various projects, initiatives, and goals as described below.

Responsibilities

  • Compile, report, and trend concourse activity.
  • Assist Flight Attendants with on-time departures, solving problems in real time.
  • Assist Flight Attendants with PBS bid options, scoring, point values, and monthly bid package reviews.
  • Assist Flight Attendants with online account log-in, SkyPro, or website questions.
  • Support base events, initiatives, and goals.
  • Become a subject matter expert in areas relevant to base initiatives, goals, and on-time departures.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by Inflight Base Management.
  • Monthly Credit Hours: 110 Credit hours per bid period, plus per diem.
  • Schedule: Days worked and shift lengths vary by domicile, and according to operational needs as determined by Inflight Base Management.

Qualifications

  • Must be an active Flight Attendant with at least 9 months of active service with the company.
  • May not hold other SAFA positions while in the Operational/PBS SAFA position.
  • Must live within the domicile they work.
  • Must have no Active Discipline in employee file.
  • Must be self-motivated, reliable, and organized.
  • Must be available to attend initial and annual recurrent PBS training with Crew Planning in MSP to become proficient in PBS bidding.
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
  • Must have intermediate to advanced proficiency with SkyPro and general technology.
  • Must have ability to work varying hours including some evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must possess the ability to embrace new ideas and encourage crewmembers to do the same.
  • Must possess the ability/disposition to interact professionally and positively with all work groups as well as customers.
  • Uniform is to be worn while on duty, in compliance with Flight Attendant Style Guide.
  • May be required to fly, to preserve the integrity of the operation.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Sit or stand for long periods of time. Sit in an assigned jumpseat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without a seatbelt extension. Jumpseat is 21” at the widest part of the seat.
  • Open emergency exits and close aircraft doors weighing up to 45 pounds and ability to push, pull, or move a beverage cart requiring approximately 32 pounds of force.
  • Candidate height must not exceed 70.5 inches or 5’ 10 ½” when measured without shoes (with flat feet).
  • Ability to reach into overhead bins and retrieve stored items. Ability to reach a minimum of 76 inches, when measured without shoes, from flat feet to fingertips.
  • Work in aircraft aisles and galleys, and while standing, reaching (extended in front and to the side of the body and above the head), walking, kneeling, bending, twisting, and working in cramped or awkward positions. Walk and fit comfortably down the aircraft aisle while facing forward and fit quickly through any exit.
  • Hear and respond to customer and crew communications in situations with high background noise.

Minimum Position Pay Range

USD $24.71/Yr.

Maximum Position Pay Range

USD $48.48/Yr.
