Job Description
Electra is seeking an experienced Line/Chase Pilot and A&P Mechanic to support development and piloting of both our two seat prototype and 9-passenger product hybrid electric, blown wing, UltraShort (eSTOL) aircraft. This is an incredible hands-on opportunity to make a direct impact on the future of aviation and advanced air mobility. This position will be based in Manassas, Virginia. You will be a part of a professional, high-performing flight team whose goal is to supply accurate, repeatable, and cost-effective data to the engineering group.
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions
- Serve as line pilot as directed by the VP for Test and/or Flight Operations and/or the Chief Test Pilot.
- Serve as chase pilot for EL2 Demonstrator aircraft to include local and remote test operations and ferry/positioning flights.
- Prepare to serve as ferry pilot for EL2 positioning flights.
- Conduct maintenance on all Electra aircraft as directed by the Chief Mechanic.
- Travel as necessary to support remote operations as a mechanic, to include "rescue" efforts to repair Electra aircraft at unplanned and potentially austere locations.
- Maintain accurate electronic and paper records of both maintenance and pilot actions as directed.
- Serve as consultant aircrew for engineering design teams to refine Electra concepts and designs.
- Serve as simulation evaluation aircrew for Electra engineering design teams.
- Assist the VP for Test and/or Flight Operations and/or the Chief Test Pilot with the generation and maintenance of flight operations and maintenance documents, to include both commercial (U.S. and international) and military formats and standards.
- Assist the VP for Test and/or Flight Operations and/or the Chief Test Pilot with the generation and maintenance of flight operations and maintenance records, to include both commercial (U.S. and international) and military formats and standards.
- Participate in certification efforts to include preparation of materials and data and presenting to certification authorities as directed.
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in aviation maintenance or related field
- Airframe and Powerplant Certification
- Commercial Pilot License
Travel: Up to 50% of domestic and international travel
