G650 First Officer/Junior Captain/Captain – Legacy Crew (Assigned to N416EL)

Salary Range

160,000 – 220,000 This is a general estimate and not a guaranteed offer. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, market conditions, and any role-specific requirements.

Job Summary/Objective

As a Legacy crew member, the G650 Junior Captain is responsible for the safe, compliant, and professional operation of Planet 9’s floating fleet of G650 aircraft across a diverse range of international and ultra-long-range missions. Operating under both Part 91 and Part 135, the Junior Captain is intended for pilots who meet FAA Part 135 PIC requirements but may not yet satisfy all vendor or client-specific minimums. As a Legacy crew member, this full-time position requires flexibility, operational awareness, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced charter environment while maintaining the highest standards of service and airmanship. The standard Legacy Pilot schedule will be 16 days on (position days included on first and last day), followed by 14 days off.  Primary aircraft will be N416EL, however coverage of another G650 for Planet Nine is possible.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) of assigned G650 aircraft when deemed appropriate by the Chief Pilot or designee.
  • Perform as Cruise Captain on augmented flight operations, when assigned, with responsibility for monitoring flight progress and maintaining safety during cruise phases.
  • Support all phases of flight operations, including preflight planning, performance calculations, routing, and post-flight duties.
  • Collaborate with PICs, SICs, Inflight, and Operations teams to execute trips safely and professionally while building leadership capabilities.
  • Demonstrate strong CRM, situational awareness, and adherence to safety protocols in all cockpit environments.
  • Represent Planet 9 with professionalism, discretion, and integrity in interactions with clients, vendors, and fellow crew members.
  • Foster a safety-first culture through disciplined checklist use, participation in crew briefings and debriefings, and adherence to company SOPs and regulatory requirements.
  • Uphold Planet 9’s values of Teamwork, Integrity, Excellence, and Safety throughout all operational responsibilities.
  • Adhere to Planet 9’s operational policies, safety procedures, and regulatory standards by completing required training and maintaining compliance across all assigned duties
  • Adapt to evolving priorities by performing additional tasks or projects as needed to support team and organizational goals
  • While N416EL is the primary aircraft for this role, it will be expected that coverage of an alternative G650 aircraft could be necessary. Normal overtime rules will apply to this if coverage of an aircraft happens outside of the pilots normal rotation.

Skills and Qualifications

  • FAA ATP Certificate
  • FAA First Class Medical Certificate
  • GVI Type Rating – Required
  • Valid passport and ability to travel unrestricted internationally
  • Must pass DOT/FAA drug screening, TSA background check, and meet Wyvern Wingman standards
  • Completed COVID-19 vaccination required prior to training

  • Total Flight Time: 1,900
  • PIC Time: 1,000
  • Multi-Engine: 800 (100 PIC)
  • Turbine: 800
  • Instrument: 100
  • Time in Type: 200 (100 PIC)

Education and Experience Requirements

  • College degree preferred
  • 2 Years Experience with Planet 9
  • International experience (outside of Mexico and Canada) highly preferred
  • Completion and maintenance of all Planet 9 training requirements in accordance with FAA Part 135 regulations

Physical Requirements (if applicable)

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to maintain a valid First Class FAA Medical Certificate

Travel Requirements (if applicable)

  • Extensive international travel required
