Job Summary
The A&P Mechanic II – Experimental Flight Test plays a key role in supporting test aircraft readiness and maintenance across a range of experimental programs. This position is responsible for performing airframe and powerplant maintenance, executing modifications, assisting with instrumentation installations, and supporting test event execution. Working alongside flight test engineers, crew chiefs, and senior technicians, the Mechanic II contributes to the safe and efficient operation of experimental and developmental aircraft.

Friday - Monday | 6:00am - 4:30pm; Overtime as required
Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions
- Perform maintenance, repairs, and modifications on experimental aircraft systems in accordance with engineering instructions and FAA guidelines.
- Assist with the installation and troubleshooting of test instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
- Support pre- and post-flight inspections, aircraft servicing, and ground operations including towing, fueling, and jacking.
- Conduct troubleshooting and repairs of airframe, powerplant, and basic avionics systems.
- Perform wiring tasks including pinning, crimping, connector assembly, and routing.
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Execute test procedure support tasks and help ensure aircraft are properly configured for test events.
- Participate in ground tests, engine run-ups, and functional checks under supervision.
- Document maintenance activities accurately in accordance with regulatory and internal procedures.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and other team members to identify issues and recommend improvements.
- Support configuration changes and readiness checks as required by the flight test schedule.
- Maintain test equipment and ground support assets in a ready state.
- Follow all safety protocols and promote a safe work environment in a high-risk, dynamic setting.

- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required; consideration may be given to candidates with equivalent military or experimental aircraft maintenance experience.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience, preferably including exposure to experimental or flight test environments.
- Basic avionics and electrical troubleshooting skills; familiarity with Garmin avionics systems is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and maintenance manuals.
- Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic test environments with shifting priorities.
- Strong attention to detail, safety, and documentation accuracy.
