What the position is:
Performs operational support within Flight Operations to ensure standardization of crewmembers in coordination with Director of Training and Manager of Flight Standards. Provides primary oversight over aircraft manufacturer and vendor relationships in coordination with Manager of Flight Operations - Technical. Supports efforts to establish and maintain all Flight Operations Auditing functions for EMB-145 fleet. Provides Content management for EMB-145 Aircraft Operations Manual (AOM), EMB-145 Aircraft Systems Manual (ASM). Assists in development of training programs and training materials in coordination with Director of Training and Director of Training Operations/AQP. Performs other tasks as directed by Director of Operations or their designee.
Essential Functions:
- At all times, discharge the duties of this position to meet applicable regulations and to maintain a safe operation.
- In coordination with other departments, interpret and administer all applicable sections of the General Operations Manual and Aircraft Operations Manual.
- Content owner of EMB-145 Aircraft Operations Manual (AOM), EMB-145 Aircraft Systems Manual (ASM).
- Works with the Director of Operations, Director of Training and Manager of Flight Standards to establish and maintain standardization of procedures fleet wide.
- Develop and maintain training curriculums in coordination with Director of Training and Director of Training Operations/AQP.
- Coordinates with Manager of Flight Standards to ensure sufficient and qualified Check Airman to ensure proper application of procedures by all pilots during all phases of aircraft operations.
- Audit quality and standardization of all line operations and training, including but not limited to the Company’s Advanced Qualification Program (AQP).
- Communicates with industry professionals, training centers, and manufacturers to stay ahead of industry-wide standards in both innovation and technology.
- Reviews and audits crew member technologies for operational effectiveness.
- Analyze and prepare feasibility studies to recommend new technologies for fleet adoption.
- Actively participate as standing member of Flight Operations Safety Action Team (SAT)
- Provides subject matter expertise to Safety Department during investigations conducted under SMS program.
- When designated, act as a Company representative in the Pilot ASAP ERC
- Participate in verbal counseling and retraining based on recommendations from the ASAP ERC
- Oversees the auditing process of off-site training centers to ensure training is compliant with manuals, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Communicates audit findings to the Director of Operations for follow-up, adjustments, and/or corrective action.
- Coordinates development of operational training and communications documents, including but not limited to Flight Operations Information Letters (FOIL’s) and Training Bulletins (TB’s).
- Collaborates with business and functional unit leaders to identify fleet needs and implement identified fleet plans/programs.
- Establishes individual and team goals and objectives; develop metrics and scorecards to monitor progress and achievement.
- Uses appropriate methods to help build a cohesive team; facilitating the completion of team goals.
- Assists departmental leadership with programs/initiatives identified by leadership as appropriate.
- Acts as liaison with the SOC in the event of an aircraft emergency.
- Assists with recruiting by conducting in-person interviews.
- Perform Flight Duty Manager responsibilities as assigned by Director of Operations
- Establishes and maintains line qualifications or instructor qualifications.
- If line qualified, act as a flight crewmember when required.
- Accountable for the Safety Management System (SMS) responsibilities described in the Company’s SMS manual and Title 14 CFR Part 5.23.
- Performs other duties and/or special projects as assigned by the Director of Operations.
General requirements & qualifications:
- 14 CFR 121 Captain Experience
- ATP with Type Rating - Embraer preferred
- 121 experience in Large Aircraft preferred
- Technical Writing Experience
- Attention to detail and experience with FAA regulatory requirements
- Check Airman experience preferred.
- High level of self-confidence, flexibility, integrity, and honesty.
- Strong experience handling multiple complex projects with shifting and/or competing priorities.
- Advanced ability to use Microsoft Office products as well as other software technologies.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
