Description

It is the specific responsibility of the First Officer to:

  • Carry out such duties concerning the flight, in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, including procedures, limitations and performance relating to the specific airplane type, as are allocated to him by the Commander;
  • Confirm the safe navigation of the airplane, maintain a continuous and independent check upon both the geographical position of the airplane and its safe terrain clearance;
  • Volunteer such advice, information and assistance to the Commander as may contribute favorably towards the safe and efficient conduct of the flight;
  • Seek and receive such information and/or explanation from the Commander as may be necessary to enable the First Officer to fulfill his function;
  • Maintain a high personal standard of discipline, conduct and appearance as a 
  • representative of the Company; and thereby
  • Support the Commander, by active example, in the development and maintenance of a high standard of professional expertise and morale amongst the crew.
  • “Report to the Commander any fault, failure, malfunction or defect which he/she believes may affect the airworthiness or safe operation of the airplane including emergency systems.” [CAT.GEN.MPA.100(b)
  • Make use of the Company’s occurrence reporting scheme as per Chapter 11 unless a particular occurrence is already reported by another crewmember. In all such cases, a copy of the report(s) shall be communicated to the Commander concerned. [ORO.GEN.160, CAT.GEN.MPA.100(b)(3)

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • EASA Part FCL ATPL or CPL/IR with ATPL (Frozen ATPL)
  • EASA Part Medical Class 1
  • Minimum 1500 hours multi-pilot multi-engine on jet aircraft or turboprop aircraft with MTOW above 10 tons or seating capacity above 19 seats. Candidates with 2000 hours on widebody aircraft will be considered for Senior First Officer position. 

 

Essentials

  • Authorization to live and work within Italy
  • Minimum ICAO English language proficiency level 4, preferably level 6
  • Ability to successfully pass a security background check and a pre-employment medical test
  • Agreement to transfer your license to a Italian issued EASA license.
