This position is required to be on-site, and requires the ability to travel as a large percentage of the job, sometime at short notice. The Chief Pilot US is responsible and accountable to the Operations Manager for all pilots operating aircraft registered and operated under the Federal Aviation Regulations of the United States.  The Chief Pilot – US shall work collaboratively with the Chief Pilot to fulfill the following responsibilities.

What You'll Do:

  • Controlling operations and operational standards of all US aircraft operated
  • Coordinating with the Operations Manager, Chief Pilot and Senior Manager Aircraft Maintenance Manager for managing functions which impact operational control (maintenance, crew scheduling, load control equipment scheduling)
  • Actively supporting the safety management system
  • Validating and addressing safety-risk management deficiencies in an appropriate and timely manner
  • Ensuring that all operations processes and procedures include the risk management mitigation specified in the safety management system
  • Liaising with US regulatory authority on all matters concerning flight operations
  • Liaising with any US based external agencies which may affect aircraft operations
  • Ensuring that flight operations and aircraft maintenance activities are conducted in compliance with all applicable safety regulations, national and international regulations, standards and company operations policies
  • Ensuring that crew scheduling complies with the flight and duty time limitations found in the Operations Manual
  • Ensuring that all crew members are kept informed of any changes to the FARs and related operating standards
  • Receiving and taking action with respect to any aeronautical information affecting the safety of flight
  • Disseminating aircraft safety information, both internal and external
  • Ensuring that flight crew qualifications are current
  • Maintaining a current operations library
  • Overseeing the welfare of the flight operations personnel
  • Ensuring the personnel under his/her authority participate effectively in the safety management system

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in aviation management, business administration, or a related field preferred
  • 15+ years of professional aviation experience
  • 5 years of previous aviation management experience of similar scope
  • FAA ATP License
  • Minimum Total Flight Time 7000 hours
  • Minimum of 4000 hours Pilot in Command
  • Minimum of 2000 hours, Jet experience
  • Minimum of 100 hours in multi-crew cockpit
  • Corporate Flight Department experience
  • Super mid-size/large jet experience and experience flying internationally are a strong asset.  Currency/Experience on Citation Sovereign is considered beneficial
  • FAA First Class Medical
  • Ability to cross International Borders
  • No incidents or accidents under the FARs
  • No convictions that would prevent holding driver’s license or ATPL.

Compensation & Benefits: 

The salary range for this role in Illinois is between $169,100 - $265,650. While we provide this range as general guidance, several factors are taken into consideration when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, candidate skill set, experience and training, licensure and certifications, work location, and other business and organizational needs. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan and long-term incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our program(s) where discretionary pay out of awards is reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.  Details will be discussed through the application process.
