Job Description
The Chief Pilot is primarily responsible for providing leadership to meet ACASS’s operational goals, ensuring all aircraft are dispatched with the safety of passengers and flight crew as the top priority in compliance with applicable aviation regulations and the company’s policies, standards, and procedures. This role is also responsible for overseeing our offshore fleet and ensuring the professional standards of flight crew and the safe transportation of customers and passengers.
Core Responsibilities
• Oversee the safe and compliant operation of the company’s flight operations in accordance with regulatory and company standards.
• Supervise, mentor, and support flight crew, including recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling coordination, and performance management.
• Ensure all pilots maintain required licenses, certifications, recurrent training, and operational proficiency.
• Develop, maintain, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs), operational manuals, and flight department policies.
• Act as the primary liaison with aviation regulatory authorities, auditors, and internal safety management teams.
• Monitor operational risk, investigate incidents or irregularities, and promote a strong safety culture across the organization.
• Coordinate with maintenance, dispatch, operations, and aircraft management teams to ensure efficient and reliable flight operations.
Key Requirements
• Valid Transport Canada Class 1 Medical and Airline Transport Pilot License-Aeroplane. • Bombardier Challenger 604/605 type rating
• Be qualified in accordance with the air operator’s training program to act as a Pilot-in-Command on one of the aircraft types to be operated.
