We are seeking highly skilled and motivated First Officers to join our dynamic team. As a First Officer with Norse Atlantic, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and professional operation of our Boeing 787 aircraft. You will work closely with the Captain and Cabin Crew to deliver a friendly and welcoming service while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities and Duties

Flight Operations:

  • Assist the Captain in the safe and efficient operation of the Boeing 787 during all phases of flight, including pre-flight planning, taxi, take-off, cruise, and landing.
  • Conduct thorough pre-flight inspections, including reviewing aircraft systems, performance calculations, and weather conditions.
  • Review and verify weight and balance, performance data, and NOTAMs prior to departure.
  • Operate aircraft systems and controls in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Monitor aircraft performance, navigation, and communication systems during flight.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Adhere to all company policies, aviation regulations, and international standards.
  • Ensure compliance with safety management systems (SMS) and report any safety concerns or incidents promptly.
  • Participate in regular simulator training, proficiency checks, and emergency procedure drills to maintain qualifications.

Crew Resource Management (CRM):

  • Work as part of a cohesive flight crew, fostering effective communication, decision-making, and teamwork.
  • Communicate effectively with ATC, ground crew, and cabin crew to ensure smooth operations.
  • Support the Captain in maintaining a positive and professional cockpit environment.
  • Assist in managing cabin crew briefings and addressing passenger-related concerns when required.

Customer Service:

  • Contribute to a positive passenger experience by ensuring timely and smooth operations.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, maintaining professionalism in all interactions with passengers, crew, and ground staff.

Administrative Duties:

  • Complete accurate and timely flight logs, reports, and documentation as required.
  • Stay updated on company manuals, operational procedures, and regulatory changes.
  • Participate in post-flight debriefs to identify areas for improvement and ensure continuous learning.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • An airline transport pilot licence (ATPL) or a commercial pilot licence with instrument rating (CPL/IR) issued by UK CAA.
  • A Class 1 medical certificate issued by the UK CAA.
  • A good command of spoken and written English.
  • Have extended (level 5) or expert (level 6) English language proficiency endorsed on their licence.
  • A minimum of 500 hours total flight time as pilot on multi-pilot (CS-25) aircraft.
  • Boeing 787 type rating or willingness to complete type rating training.
  • Strong knowledge of aviation regulations, navigation, and meteorology.
  • Excellent situational awareness, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing operational conditions.
  • Unrestricted right to live and work in United Kingdom.
