POSITION SUMMARY

Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair aircraft electronic systems including but not limited to troubleshooting, repairs and functional tests on avionics systems and components.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Conduct operational testing and troubleshooting on avionics systems and components
  • Performs the installation and functional test of avionics components and systems on aircraft per engineering specs, blueprints and/or maintenance manuals
  • Repair or replace defective components and wiring to ensure installations meet conformity
  •  Demonstrate effective repair techniques using acceptable practices
  • Conducts functional and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability
  • Ensures that all work performed on the aircraft is properly and completely documented and ready for inspection
  • Comply with engineering changes and modifications as required ensuring quality and efficiency of all installations
  • Provide timely, quality repairs of malfunctioning systems
  • Other duties as assigned not specifically stated herein

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, ETC:

  • High school diploma or GED. Avionics certification or technical training
  • 1 year of similar or equivalent avionics experience and/or training in the business aviation industry or military
  • Demonstrated ability to read, interpret and understand blueprints
  • A&P, FCC license is prefered

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Basic knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) governing aircraft maintenance and modification
  • An understanding of aircraft electrical installations/modifications
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings of various aircraft types.
  • Must have the ability to interact with a wide range of customer groups, both internal and external
  • Must be able to communicate technical issues in an assertive and tactful manner
  • Must possess excellent oral and written skills, as well as strong analytical abilities

This role is performed primarily in an aircraft hangar environment that may be subject to changing weather conditions. Employees may be exposed to loud noise, heavy equipment and machinery, hazardous materials, and other potential safety hazards commonly found in an aviation maintenance and manufacturing setting.
