Title: Aviation Maintenance Technician (A&P) - Helicopter

Location: 4207 Murvihill Road, Valparaiso, IN 46383

Hybrid Schedule: Dependent on weekly flight schedule, if no flights can work remotely

Job Summary

The Aviation Maintenance Technician is a licensed Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) mechanic responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of company helicopters. This role supports aircraft maintenance and inspections while also playing a key role in aviation planning, budgeting, documentation, and tool‑tracking programs. Depending on operational needs, this position may include administrative and compliance activities in addition to hands‑on maintenance and repair.

Essential Functions

  • Perform aircraft maintenance, inspections, and repairs in accordance with FAA regulations, OEM Maintenance programs, and company standards. 
  • Accurately maintain aircraft records, documentation, and maintenance logs.
  • Maintain parts inventory, shop and hangar tools and equipment.
  • Review Airworthiness Directives (ADs) and Service Bulletins to ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to industry best practices. Ensure compliance with applicable Airworthiness Directives (ADs).
  • Take part in outside vendor maintenance processes, for example: Get quotes, status updates, observe work in progress, etc.
  • Forecast maintenance needs and contribute to budgeting efforts to support optimized aircraft utilization.
  • Support the development and maintenance of aviation operations manuals and documentation.
  • Participate in the Safety Management System (SMS) and Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP).
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to tool tracking, safety, and maintenance planning.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License
  • Demonstrated ability to assess situations quickly and make sound decisions independently
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data to support informed decision‑making
  • Ability to recognize and evaluate risk, balance competing priorities, and collaborate with individuals at various organizational levels
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new software applications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

  • FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) License
  • Experience using CAMP or similar maintenance tracking programs
  • 3-5 years of experience in helicopter industry

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this position include those typical of an aviation maintenance environment.

*The salary offered to a candidate is based on several factors including but not limited to the candidate’s skills, job-related knowledge, and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity.
