SUMMARY:

The Safety Programs Specialist is responsible for the execution and administration of all safety reporting programs. Duties and responsibilities include administration of ASAP, Fatigue, Incident and Safety reporting programs. The Safety Programs Specialist must maintain databases and assist with routine data analysis and trending as requested by leadership. The Safety Programs Specialist reports to the Director of Safety.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive, process, and maintain records of all submitted safety related reports (ASAP, Fatigue, Incident, Safety)
  • Schedule, facilitate, and proctor Event Review Committee (ERC) meetings as the ASAP Manager
  • Coordinate and monitor any required ERC corrective actions or recommendations 
  • Schedule, facilitate and proctor Fatigue Review Committee meetings
  • Coordinate and monitor fatigue mitigation recommendations from the FRC
  • Assign, track, and monitor actions items developed from submitted reports
  • Create and disseminate routine reports to employees, leadership, and the FAA as required 
  • Maintain and enhance all ASAP, ERC, and fatigue materials and training
  • Maintain department databases, tracking sheets, and SMS recordkeeping 
  • Participate in company safety meetings and working groups
  • Assist the DOS and respective teams on accident/incident investigations
  • Assist with the development of safety promotion material to include safety communications and training.
  • Work on special teams as required
  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience
  • Working knowledge of aviation terminology required
  • Data analysis skills required
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required
  • Excellent computer skills and MS Office proficiency required
  • Working knowledge of aviation safety programs preferred
  • WBAT experience preferred
  • Private pilot, Dispatch License, A&P required
  • Experience with risk assessment and/or root cause analysis tools preferred
  • Must be available to work Monday - Friday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EDT
  • Must be independent and stay organized 
  • Maintains professional standards in remote work settings by ensuring full availability, appropriate attire, timely meeting attendance, and minimal distractions
  • Effectively manages personal obligations to uphold job responsibilities and comply with remote work policies
