Role Introduction
Reports to: Inflight Safety & Risk Manager
As an Inflight Operations Safety and Standards Specialist in the Inflight Service Delivery Department, you will be responsible for providing support to Inflight Safety & Risk Manager in managing cabin safety and upholding Safety Management System (SMS), cabin safety standards and Occupational Health & Safety. You will be also responsible for ensuring the safety standards for Cathay Pacific Airways are in compliance of Hong Kong and International regulatory bodies through research, development and implementation of safety, security and Occupational Health & Safety.
You will be playing an crucial role to support the Inflight Service Delivery Department to meet its legislative obligations under the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department (HKCAD) SMS and the Hong Kong Occupational Safety and Health Ordinance, and supports the SMS, by addressing mitigations for safety risks associated to cabin operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance safety performance by thoroughly reviewing all reports related to cabin safety, identifying key issues and trends, and ensuring effective follow-up
- Collaborate in detailed investigations of reports to uncover valuable opportunities for improvement and ensure they are addressed appropriately
- Responsible for cabin safety projects and initiating cabin safety-related engagement activities that promote cabin safety awareness
- Lead the safety promoting to foster a strong safety culture
- Oversee the quality of any safety communication materials
- Review and update safety related manuals and documents
- Play a key role in the preparation for Safety Action Group meetings, providing support and insights
- Be a part of Cabin crew Management flying program to promote safety through participation and experience
Requirements
- Attained a bachelor degree or above
- At least 5 years of relevant experience, have a sound understanding of safety standards and operation procedures ideally in aviation, safety, training and/or Occupational Health & Safety related role
- Excellent analytical skill, along with knowledge in data analytics, auditing and compliance
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
- Good command of written and spoken Chinese (including Putonghua) would be
- highly regarded
- Self-motivated, detail-minded, well organized, high quality awareness with accuracy and efficiency
- Be a good team player with ability to communicate efficiently with stakeholders at all levels
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Power BI applications
- Experience as a cabin crew is an advantage
