Position Summary: The Global Express Captain is responsible for the safe, efficient, and professional operation of the company’s Bombardier Global Express aircraft. This position ensures all flights are conducted in strict compliance with FAA regulations, company policies, and the highest standards of aviation safety and customer service. The Captain will lead the flight crew, coordinate with ground and maintenance teams, and provide an exceptional travel experience for company executives and clients.

Key Roles / Responsibilities

  • Serve as Pilot in Command (PIC) on Global Express aircraft, ensuring the highest level of safety and professionalism.
  • Conduct preflight planning, including route analysis, fuel calculations, weather evaluation, and alternate airport planning.
  • Verify aircraft airworthiness, performance data, and weight and balance prior to flight.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA Part 91 and/or Part 135 regulations and company operational manuals.
  • Supervise and coordinate with flight crew members, cabin attendants, and maintenance personnel for seamless operations.
  • Maintain situational awareness and sound decision-making in all phases of flight.
  • Uphold and promote a strong safety culture in accordance with the company’s Safety Management System (SMS).
  • Adhere to all FAA, ICAO, and international aviation regulations.
  • Ensure all required documentation, flight logs, and reports are completed accurately and promptly.
  • Participate in ongoing safety training, flight reviews, and recurrent simulator sessions as required.
  • Deliver a world-class travel experience to passengers with discretion, courtesy, and attention to detail.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with passengers, crew, and support personnel.
  • Maintain current and proficient knowledge of Global Express systems, performance, and limitations.
  • Successfully complete recurrent and proficiency training as required by FAA and company standards.
  • Assist in mentoring and evaluating First Officers to promote continuous improvement in flight operations.

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Aeronautical Science, or related field preferred.
  • FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate required.
  • Type Rating: Bombardier Global Express series required.
  • FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Rotorcraft highly desired
  • Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
  • Valid Passport with no restrictions for international travel.
  • Minimum of 5,000 total flight hours.
  • Minimum of 2,000 hours as Pilot in Command.
  • Minimum of 500 hours of international flight experience.
  • Prior experience operating Global Express or large-cabin business jets under Part 91 operations strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional leadership and crew resource management (CRM) skills.
  • Thorough understanding of FAA, ICAO, and international flight regulations.
  • Excellent flight planning, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with emphasis on customer service.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism.

Working Conditions:

  • Prolonged periods sitting in a pilot’s cabin for long periods of time.
  • Ability to maintain single task focus and situational awareness.
  • Long term physical fitness for duty to maintain all licenses and certifications of fitness as required by regulatory agencies and licensing entities (DMV, FAA, DOT, et cetera).
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Determine the distance between objects.
  • React quickly using hands, fingers, or feet.
  • Move two or more limbs together (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while remaining in place.
  • Must be able to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions. 
  • Must be able to complete tasks even with frequent interruptions. 
  • Must be able to use discretion and independent judgment as needed. 
  • Must be able to speak clearly on the phone and to fellow workers.
