Description

  

INTRODUCTION

The A&P Mechanic will maintain the company’s aircraft in a safe, and airworthy condition in accordance with company maintenance manuals and Federal Aviation Regulations.

 
 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform work on aircraft and components as outlined on corresponding work forms, and in accordance with the manufacturer’s Maintenance Manual and Empire Airlines’ approved maintenance program.
  • Maintain the work area in a clean and orderly condition; complete all records and paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
  • A&P Mechanic will maintain the company’s aircraft in a safe and airworthy condition according to the company maintenance manual and Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Serve as a role model for ethical behavior, maintain a professional and dignified work environment, and promote and support the mission of Empire Airlines.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • In-depth knowledge of aircraft structures, systems, maintenance, and inspection practices, along with proficiency in troubleshooting related systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and service bulletins.
  • Strong understanding of FAA regulations applicable to maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team, in high-pressure environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to safety and high standards of quality and compliance.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • An FAA-issued Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate is required.
  • Electrical, technical, or mechanical aptitude.
  • Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record per company policy.
  • Compliance with FAA/DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Program.

Preferred:

  • Two or more years of hands-on experience working with the company’s aircraft type.
  • Prior field maintenance or flight support experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work primarily performed in a hangar or outdoor ramp environment.
  • Exposure to aircraft noise, moving mechanical parts, and hazardous materials.
  • Requires standing, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders/lifts, and lifting up to 80 pounds.
  • Requires manual dexterity, speaking, seeing, and hearing to conduct business.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Travel up to 25% to support field maintenance or customer sites.
  • Smoke-free, drug- and alcohol-free workplace.

Pay & Benefits:

  • Starting hourly base pay range (DOE):  $28.53 - $33.37 
  • Qualifying hourly pay Incentives: $2.00 regional, $1.00 A&P license
  • Expected starting hourly Total: $31.53 to $36.37
