What Will You Be Doing?

The Manager, Ramp Service and Winter Operations is responsible for working collaboratively with the Airport Customer Service Team to develop, update and deliver training programs for ramp service. brake riding and aircraft towing procedures for our Ramp Service agents.  Equally important, the manager is responsible for working collaboratively with the Frontier and Business Partner Deice Teams to monitor and enhance Frontier’s deicing program.  The manager will monitor the effectiveness of Frontier’s 121 FAA Approved program and ensure the partners that are using another approved 121 Program adhere to the standards outlined by the FAA and Frontier Airlines Ground Deice/Anti Ice Program. 

Essential Functions

  • Monitor compliance of corporate and business partner employees with required training and compliance obligations
  • Oversee training for initial, recurrent, station start-up/transition/station re-opening and special programs for Ramp Service agents and deice business partners
  • Perform quality audits to determine effectiveness of training, training materials, learning methodologies and technology

Ramp Operations

  • Continually enhance and oversee initial and recurrent training for ramp service, aircraft brake riding and towing and aircraft appearance for Ramp Service employees
  • Ensure Ramp Service policies, procedures and training curricula are compliant with regulatory and company requirements
  • Analyze ramp service, brake riding and tow team training materials to ensure the content and format meet the needs of the learner while leveraging best in class trends in training design
  • Monitor effectiveness of training materials and instructor delivery

Winter Operations

  • Ensure flights are Deiced/Anti-iced in accordance with the Clean Aircraft Concept and Frontier Airlines operating procedures, aircraft manufacturers and airline specifications
  • Manage all aspects of daily airside de-icing operations as well as provide leadership and coaching to increase overall safety, performance, maintenance, reclamation operations and facility requirements
  • Promote and maintain safe, efficient, and professional communication between deicing partners, cockpit crewmembers
  • Participate in the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures for aircraft deicing
  • Ensure all deice equipment is compliant with FAA, airline, and airport regulations and training requirements
  • Manage relationships with airline station managers and deice Business Partners to ensure teamwork and collaboration occurs on all deice events 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Frontier deice and winter operations
  • Oversee the calibration and functionality of all associated equipment to include storage, fluid management, pumps, and refractometers
  • Work closely with cold weather city deice Business Partners to ensure sufficient deicing fluid is stocked, equipment and personnel are available for the forecasted weather conditions and immediately resolve any concerns for deice events 

Other Functions

  • Maintain all documentation associated with the provision of Ramp Service training, deicing/anti-icing training, including Frontier’s operating procedures, relevant training materials, quality control and fluid management records, audit reports, risk assessments 
  • Oversee all external and internal audits regarding aircraft brake riding and aircraft towing procedures and winter operations.
  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

  • Ramp operations, aircraft towing, brake riding and deicing experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Four (4) years’ experience in leading and motivating team members required
  • Experience in creation and production of curriculum and training materials
  • Experience in delivering training to include subject knowledge, presentation and class engagement
  • Ability to communicate, both written and verbal (English)
  • Strong oral, written and presentation communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent interpersonal communications, collaboration, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple, concurrent projects and priorities while meeting deadlines
  • Knowledge and understanding of Federal Aviation Administration regulations
  • Proven ability to work with confidential material
  • Proficient in Spanish language preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong oral, written and presentation communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products
  • Familiarization with adult learning methods and technologies
  • Ability to proofread, attention to detail, and prioritize assignments 

Equipment Operated

Knowledge of PC, , scanner, digital camera, video camera, general office equipment, LCD, copy machine and various industry standard printers (ticketing and baggage).
