Skyline Aviation is seeking a skilled and experienced General Aviation Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing various types of general aviation aircraft, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and manufacturer specifications. The A&P Technician will work closely with a team of aviation professionals to provide exceptional service to our clients and ensure the safe and efficient operation of aircraft.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspections, routine maintenance, and repairs on general aviation aircraft, including airframes, engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and avionics.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot aircraft systems to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to guide maintenance and repair procedures.
  • Conduct thorough pre-flight and post-flight inspections to ensure aircraft airworthiness.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed on aircraft.
  • Perform scheduled inspections and maintenance tasks in compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other aviation professionals, including pilots, mechanics, and engineers, to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure efficient aircraft operations.
  • Order and maintain an inventory of necessary parts, tools, and equipment for aircraft maintenance and repairs.
  • Keep up-to-date with advancements in aircraft technology, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Ensure adherence to safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Perform inspections and issue appropriate certifications as an Inspection Authorization (IA) holder.


Requirements

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic certification is required.
  • FAA Inspection Authorization (IA), however we will consider applicants without an IA that have the minimum experience to apply for the IA.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; completion of an FAA-approved aviation maintenance program or equivalent training is preferred.
  • Minimum of [3] years of experience working as an A&P Technician in general aviation.
  • In-depth knowledge of general aviation aircraft systems, components, and operations.
  • Proficient in interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with FAA regulations and guidelines for aircraft maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects and work in confined spaces.
  • Valid driver's license.
