Description

Aircraft Maintenance Technicians (AMTs) play a critical role in ensuring the safety, airworthiness, and operational readiness of aircraft. This includes performing inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs while adhering to FAA regulations, company policies, and safety standards. AMTs are responsible for diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues, documenting maintenance actions, and ensuring compliance with all applicable guidelines. As an AMT, you contribute to the safety and satisfaction of our team members, clients, and passengers.

Key Responsibilities

1. Inspections and Repairs:

  • Perform routine and non-routine inspections, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and repair or replace defective parts to ensure aircraft airworthiness.
  • Respond promptly to flight crew requests to resolve issues before departure or upon arrival.
  • Work outdoors on the flight line in varying weather conditions, supporting 24/7/365 operations.

2. Documentation and Compliance:

  • Accurately document all maintenance activities, update logbooks, and sign off airworthiness releases in compliance with FAA and company regulations.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and meets operational and regulatory standards.

3. Flexibility and Adaptability:

  • Adapt to flexible schedules, including irregular shifts, split shifts, extended hours, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required by customer needs or AOG situations.
  • Be available for on-call assignments and emergency call-outs to support operational requirements.

4. Communication and Initiative:

  • Maintain open communication with Maintenance Control, station management, and shift supervisors to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Proactively report issues and collaborate with leadership to address challenges.

5. Professionalism:

  • Exhibit a professional appearance and demeanor, fostering trust and confidence among team members, clients, and flight crews.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License in good standing.
  • Minimum of 1 year of line maintenance experience on flight line operations for commercial or passenger aircraft is required.
  • Experience with passenger jet aircraft is mandatory. Preferred models include Airbus A220, A321, A330, and Boeing 737.
  • Proficiency in English, with the ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet airport badging requirements for airfield access.
  • Demonstrated schedule flexibility, including availability for split shifts, irregular shifts, extended hours, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-outs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in high-pressure situations.

 

Physical Requirements:

Must possess the ability to:

1. Stand

2. Lie down

3. Kneel

4. Climb stairs, scaffolds or ladders

5. Frequently lift, pull, and hold objects weighing more than 70 pounds

6. Noise and vibration are common when engines are on, so ear protection is necessary.

 

SECURITY & BACKGROUND:

Must be able to pass aviation security Background Checks.

 

*Working conditions: A&P Mechanics usually work outdoors, sometimes in unpleasant weather. Mechanics often work under time pressure to maintain flight schedules to keep from inconveniencing customers. At the same time, mechanics have a tremendous responsibility to maintain safety standards.

 

*SAN Sign-On Bonus

This bonus applies to all new SAN direct hired licensed A&P Mechanics classified as full-time and hired after June 25, 2024. (Contractors are not eligible)

Eligibility Criteria:

• Successfully complete and uphold all CAS required training.

• Successfully complete and uphold all customer required training.

• Successfully obtains airport badge that meets the requirements of the customer contract; including, but not limited to a customs badge. Must remain in good standing with Airport badging requirements.

• Successfully completes a satisfactory 90-day probationary period.

Bonus Installments:

$5,000 max payout in a 12-month period.

Disbursements are processed in equal quarterly payments of $1,250 at the end of each quarter effective from the date of hire.
