You will be part of the Product Development Engineering, Aerospace team where it all starts for Bombardier as it sets the stage to take full advantage of its investments and the tremendous growth potential of its new products. The organization is responsible for bringing new aircraft programs to their successful entry-into-service. Currently, these new products are the all-new CSeries commercial aircraft and the high-performance Global 7000/Global 8000 business jets.

In your role, you will:

- Perform pre/post experimental test inspections as trained, of all data acquisition instrumentation systems or prototype avionics and electrical systems, making adjustments and repairs to ensure the integrity of the instrumentation system during flight and ground tests
- Perform maintenance on experimental aircraft electrical and electronic systems
- Assist with close tolerance initial and secondary calibrations on experimental flight test aircraft
- Set up and operate test equipment required for aircraft systems and instrumentation engineering support
- Assist with fabrication and troubleshooting prototype avionics and electrical systems or instrumentation
- Troubleshoot electronic assemblies and test equipment
- Perform engineering tests of prototype avionics and electrical components and systems at on-site and off-site locations
- Assist with aircraft ballast changes
- Assist with installation of instrumentation, strain gauges, and accelerometers
- Assist with aircraft towing, weighing, and related activities
- Assist other Avionics/Instrumentation Technicians or AMT’s, in the performance of their duties as required
- Access and re-install aircraft components, which obstruct the performance of assigned tasks
- Actively participate in process improvement initiatives as directed or assigned
- Maintain company tools, equipment, and work areas to department and company standards
- Will perform aircraft testing at offsite locations in support of other divisions and customers


As our ideal candidate,

- You have the ability to gain foreign work visa's and work in foreign countries
- You have a thorough knowledge of electronic and electromechanical theory and repair to the component level
- You have a thorough knowledge of current technologies within the field of avionics and electrical or data acquisition systems
- You have the ability to design prototype analog and digital electronics, printed circuit board construction, and test fixtures
- You have the ability to perform reverse engineering including but not limited to experimental aircraft and instrumentation systems
- You have a thorough knowledge of procedures used in testing aircraft, instrumentation, test rigs and related equipment
- You have the ability to troubleshoot avionics and electrical systems and data acquisition systems
- You have a working knowledge of current electronics and computer technology applied to aircraft flight testing
- You have the ability to create wiring schematics and document procedures
- You have a thorough knowledge of aircraft avionic/electronic operating and troubleshooting principles and concepts
- You have a thorough knowledge of aircraft operating systems, i.e., flight controls, fuel systems, environmental systems, etc.
- You have a thorough knowledge of avionic/electronic test and measurement equipment
- You have computer skills necessary to operate word processing, spreadsheets and databases
- You have a thorough knowledge of data acquisition instrumentation systems and components, i.e., transducers, sensors, power supplies, signal conditioning, and strain gauges
