POSITION INFORMATION

Role Summary The Inflight Training Specialist identifies training needs, develops content, and ensures training compliance in accordance with federal and company requirements.

Scope & Complexity

  • This position supports inflight training activities for Horizon Air Industries (QX).

Key Duties

  • Identifies training needs and improves training delivery through FAA requirements, classroom evaluation, and outcome analysis.
  • Partners cross-divisionally and with outside agencies and vendors to develop, maintain, and implement accurate and compliant flight attendant training programs.
  • Leverages an in-depth understanding of training standards and regulations to develop well-organized, consistent, and compliant training content using PowerPoint presentations and other training software.
  • Creates training modules that enhance the learning experience and remain on the cutting edge of technology.
  • Supports department initiatives and identifies ways to enhance training effectiveness and improve the learning process.
  • Audits training classes and records to ensure compliance with FAA and other government regulations and QX policies.
  • Delivers inflight training with a professional, warm, and caring tone and manner.
  • Provides a safe, fair, and successful training environment for learners.
  • Ensures flight attendants meet the requirements for attendance, conduct, and professional standards during training events.
  • Ensures 100% compliance with training records.
  • Attends company-sponsored career development training for leaders (i.e., Performance Partnership training, Practical Coach, Drug & Alcohol Training, Leaders Challenge, etc.)
  • Provides quarterly training subject feedback and updates to training team, which may require multi-day travel.
  • Completes SMS Training and is a SRM participant
  • Involved in the hiring and termination process of new flight attendants while attending initial training

Job-Specific Skills

  • Required
  • A minimum 2 years of customer service experience.
  • Highly enthusiastic with exceptional facilitation, presentation, and listening skills.
  • Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and influential communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage changing priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to a changing business environment
  • Team-oriented with excellent ability to build relationships and tactfully communicate with others.
  • Self-starter who takes the initiative in finding solutions to difficult/unique problems and opportunities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Strong operational knowledge of Apple products (iPad, iPhone 6+).
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to travel overnight (i.e., multi-day events) on a quarterly basis.
  • Minimum age of 21.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Preferred
  • Experience as a Horizon Air flight attendant.
  • 2 or more years of classroom facilitation.

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree is preferred.
