Position at Gogo Commercial Aviation

PICs (Pilot in Command) are responsible for the safe conduct of flights to which they are assigned. PICs report directly to the Director of Operations. When assigned to a flight, the PIC has the final authority in the operation of the aircraft. PICs must ensure compliance with all Federal, state, local and foreign regulations, as well as the policies and procedures specified in the company operations manual. PICs are the company's most visible representative to the passengers and must act with tact and decorum while ensuring an efficient and safe operation.

The duties of a PIC include but are not limited to:

  • Acting as pilot in command (PIC) of flights for which the pilot has been scheduled
  • Aids in the selection, training, and supervision of new-hire pilots and other Flight Operations Personnel.
  • Complying with schedules, and other directives governing the aircraft's operation
  • Assist the Director of Operations in developing company policies and procedures
  • Studying weather conditions at destination, enroute, alternate airports and departure points
  • Ensuring that the aircraft is clean and prepared for flight with all provisions on board for the safety and comfort of the passengers
  • Reviewing and calculating the aircraft weight and balance, fuel on board and performance charts
  • Supervising the first officer (SIC) in any duties necessary for the smooth, safe and efficient operation of the aircraft including delegation of tasks to the SIC
  • Coordinating the functioning of all crewmembers assigned to the flight
  • Monitoring crew performance, sharing knowledge with crewmembers and evaluating crewmember potential for advancement
  • Making decisions necessary to start, delay, or cancel flights and deviate the flight from planned route or destination when operating conditions dictate
  • Keep assigned copy of Operations Manual up to date
  • Report for duty not less than 60 minutes prior to dispatch time for domestic flights. This is for the accomplishment of preflight inspections.
  • Notify the Director of Operations whenever the pilot may violate any rule due to being dispatched on a flight.
  • Notify the Director of Operations whenever a medical deficiency exists that would affect the safety of flight
  • Ensures compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations Part 125 and company policies and procedures

  • Challenger 600 experience
  • 737 experience

Mandatory Requirements:

  • FAA ATP (FAA Airline Transport Certificate)
  • Bachelors Degree in related are – engineering, physical science, mathematics, or equivalent
  • Minimum 8000 flight hours total Flight time verifiable through third parties.
  • 100 Hours Flight Time within past 12 months
  • Pilot-in Command experience on Transport Category Aircraft to include qualification and at least 2500 hours on a 737
  • International flight operations experience within the past 24 months
  • Current FAA Class II Medical with no restrictions except glasses
  • Writing skills appropriate to writing technical manuals and company correspondence
