Yes Security Clearance (Security Clearance definitions) Current Secret - US Citizenship Required Security Requirements Job Description Performs Flight Engineer rated crewmember essential in-flight duties on C-130 AMP developmental test missions. Assists the pilot during flight as a technical operating, decision-making, and performing flight crew member. Functions as a part of the minimum operating crew. Makes decisions regarding aircraft systems, flight environment, suitability for operation, and safety, and coordinates these decisions with the pilot(s) during flight. The candidate will be a member of the Boeing HDAIT C-130 Avionics Modernization Program Flight Test Team. Will participate in performing aircraft ground and flight-test efforts for a major avionics modification. Also responsible for providing input to resolution of programmatic and technical problems that would critically affect performance, cost, or schedule. Participate in the development of processes, methods, and tools for systems testing and test missions. Participate in generating test procedures. Candidate will be required to interface with Air Force, DoD, and interdepartmental and associate contractor personnel on a daily basis, as part of a Combined Test Force at Edwards AFB. Candidate will perticipate in Crew Station Working Groups, Design Issues meetings, lab testing and evaluation as part of the systems design and development.
Competencies Experience as a C-130 Flight Engineer, preferably on MC-130 E/H Combat Talon aircraft. Experience working in a development/test environment, preferably a Combined Test Force is a plus. Experience participating in crew station working groups, design reviews and system development is desired. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team skills. Positive self- starting attitude with the ability to perform in high stress situations involving rapidly changing mission requirements and deadlines. Proficient with PC based software applications. Possession of a current DoD secret clearance, and the ability to obtain a top secret, is required. Education Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience. Prefer 8 to 10 years' company or related industry experience. Relocation Money Available YES
Notes Military flight crew experience. Must pass a physical, physiological & performance screening. Require authorization by local GFR. Applicant will be required to work flexible hours, overtime, second shift, and occasional weekends when necessary to support ground and flight test missions. Occasional travel to offsite locations and ranges is also required.
