INFLIGHT INSTRUCTOR
DEPARTMENT NAME: In-Flight
REPORTS TO: Director of Inflight Standards
POSITION SUMMARY:
The In-Flight Instructor reports to the Director of In-Flight Services and has the responsibility for the development of all phases of In-Flight Training to ensure education, safety and compliance with Allegiant Air policies and with FAA approved training programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for the development and implementation of all training programs for Flight Attendants.
- Establish monthly working schedules for Initial, Recurrent and Differences training, as well as, the Check Flight Attendants to meet projected training requirements
- Responsible for Manuals, regulatory bulletins, program curriculum and courseware updates as assigned
- Responsible for In-Flight related aspects of aircraft certification and management of new aircraft
- Respond to Flight Attendant crews involved in major flight emergencies or accidents
- Evaluate need for and implement retraining of flight attendants as needed
- Attend event reviews, evaluate incidents and make recommendations for enhancements as needed
- Other duties assigned
INTERACTIONS:
Flight Attendant Candidates; Allegiant Air Employees; FAA
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to work well with others and communicate effectively with people at all levels
- Ability to read and write English
- Professional demeanor, excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
- Must have a valid passport and drivers license
- Must pass a background check and five (5) year pre-employment drug screen
- Must have authorization to work in the U.S. as defined in the Immigrations Act of 1986
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or equivalent; College Degree preferred
EXPERIENCE:
Allegiant Air qualified Flight Attendant background; previous facilitation and training background preferred
KNOWLEDGE:
Proficient in the use of PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office Products
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Office and aircraft environment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS:
Good general health, with no condition that would be adversely affected by flight; physically fit; able to push/pull cart/boxes in excess of 75 pounds; Meet FAR guidelines. Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (High Visibility clothing, Ear protection, safety glasses) when required
