Southwest Airlines will accept your job bid for the
Baltimore Flight Attendant Supervisor I position only if you
are currently a resident of Maryland or can provide
established residency in the state of Maryland.

WORK ACTIVITIES/CONTEXT:  

Responsible for all essential functions of an Inflight
Supervisor, which includes but is not limited to:

Responsible to qualify and maintain all the active
requirements of a Southwest Airlines Flight Attendant.

Must attend required Leadership Training on an annual
basis (i.e. Recurrent Training, Drug & Alcohol training,
CISM training, or others).

Participates in the Flight Attendant interview process.

Responsible for counseling behavioral issues, conducting
F/A file reviews, documenting appropriate F/A files.

Ensures recognition and appropriate documentation of
positive performance such as Flight Attendant Company
Anniversaries, Commendation Letters, and all Special
Recognition Awards.

Responsible for review/follow-up of probationary peer
evaluations, and monitoring Probationary Flight Attendant
performance.  

Participates in new-hire Base Orientations.

Participates in base functions (Ronald McDonald Dinner;
Leadership Luncheon; Message to the Field).

Responsible for attendance and documentation of weekly
Staff Meetings.

Responsible for weekend and evening Supervisor-On-
Duty coverage on rotating basis.  

Responsible for all duties relating to a Concourse
Supervisor, Customer Service Supervisor, Office
Supervisor on a rotation basis.

Must maintain awareness of all Company printed material
and Union publications.

Must maintain a working knowledge of their designated
Flight Attendants' performance and attendance issues, as
well as contractual information / interpretation.

Must maintain a working knowledge of the current
Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements
listed on this description.  

May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's
Leaders.

Minimum Requirements

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:  

High School diploma, GED, or equivalent education
required.

Must be at least 20 years of age.  

Must have authorization to work in the United States as
defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

EDUCATION:

High School diploma or equivalency required.

College coursework or degree would be an asset.

Must have successfully completed or must be able to
complete the Southwest Airlines Flight Attendant Initial
Training program.

WORK EXPERIENCE:  

Supervisory experience with Southwest Airlines or from
past employment would be an asset.

PHYSCIAL ABILITIES:

Must meet all the all qualifications as outlined in the Flight
Attendant position analysis.

SKILLS/ABILITIES/KNOWLEDGE/WORK STYLE:

Must be able to comply with Company attendance
standards as described in established guidelines.

Ability to type and/or use computer keyboard with sufficient
speed and accuracy to meet demands of job.

Must be able to operate multi-line telephone with sufficient
courtesy and speed.

Must be able to master several software packages.

Must possess strong organizational skills.

Must have ability sufficient to handle and resolve
personnel issues.

Must be decisive, show attention to detail, be able to meet
deadlines and work flexible schedule.

Must be able to communicate effectively with Internal
Customers, both face to face and through written
communication.

Job duties include, but are not limited to: detailed work,
confidentiality, reading documents, problem-solving,
mathematical ability, verbal and written communication,
customer contact, multiple concurrent tasks and constant
interruption.

Must be aware of hazardous situations and be able to
provide a leadership role in an emergency as needed.

Must be able to work well with others as part of a Team.

Must demonstrate SWA Culture on a daily basis.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company
appearance standards as described in established
guidelines.
