WestJet has a new and exciting opportunity that would allow you to be part of the Q400 Regional start up team. This is an exceptional opportunity for an entrepreneurial type individual, to help build and launch a new airline for a growing and progressive organization.
This position will be responsible for developing, implementing and instructing inflight training for the launch of the Q400 regional airline. Once the airline is operational, this position will be responsible to meet the Transport Canada regulatory requirements to maintain our operating certificate as it relates to the flight attendant manual, Inflight training programs, flight attendant qualifications, training equipment and training records.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain Inflight Training programs and publications, ensuring they are developed to meet Transport Canada Regulations and Standards Facilitate the delivery of training programs and lesson plans accurately in accordance with regulatory requirements, standard operating procedures and WestJet culture. Co-ordinate and identify training requirements for the year Ensure complete training records are kept for all flight attendants’ training, ensuring that all flight attendants meet Transport Canada requirements and that all training records are audited to ensure compliancy Responsible for performance management within training classes Develop and maintain a current and approved flight attendant manual ensuring accuracy with Transport Canada Regulations and Standards. Issue revisions and bulletins to the flight attendant manual as required. Manage workflow, objective and deadlines for the implementation of standards and procedures for the flight attendant manual Liaise with WestJet to ensure consistency among standard policies and procedures; and alignment between training programs and the flight attendant manuals Ensure the implementation of effective corrective action(s) to eliminate/reduce the risk of the cause(s) or probable causes(s) of hazards, incidents, and accidents identified under the Safety Management System The processing and actioning of any cabin crew reports. Evaluation, development and implementation of flight attendant training materials and training devices required for flight attendant training [training equipment; cabin trainer and teaching aids] Qualify and remain current in the flight attendant role and fly as required Industry Experience/Qualifications:
Minimum 3-5 years airline experience, preferably in a leadership/management role Post-secondary education is preferred, however a combination of training / adult facilitation experience will be considered Solid understanding of CAR's, CBAAC's, the Flight Attendant Manual Standard, Flight Attendant Training Standard, and other Transport Canada related documents Demonstrated high energy, dynamic, team player successful in meeting challenging, ever changing business priorities Demonstrated excellence in project/time management, communication and interpersonal skills Proven ability to build strong working relationships in and across teams Must excel in a fast paced, dynamic environment, with a high degree of motivation and commitment to working with a team in the unique WestJet culture Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet work schedules, standards and deadlines in an ever changing environment Minimum Intermediate level of proficiency in PC applications ( Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point) Superior communication (written and verbal) and analytical skills with a solid understanding of process flow, presentation, facilitation and interpersonal skills.
