Description ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION: •Support the creation of aircraft maintenance information using SGML/XML publication tools. •Produce technical documents and/or QA complex technical tasks •Write, QA, and edit the maintenance publications for Learjet aircraft •Author and/or revise text material for technical standards documents, book plans, and manuals in accordance with the latest aviation standard guidelines and specifications •Work independently from basic information and produce a complete written manual or projects •Research, coordinate and interpret complex aircraft blueprints, test reports and vendor data for preparation to be included in technical manuals •Answer questions from engineering personnel, customers and others concerning technical publications •Analyze technical material, engineering drawings and specifications to write a descriptive copy that is technically accurate and easily understandable •Verify and obtain information from the necessary departments and personnel including, but not limited to, Engineering, Pilots, Technicians and Production for inclusion in technical manuals •Perform quality control for data prepared •Adhere to Bombardier General Work Requirements, Core Values and Leadership attributes. •Analyze, translate, and assemble technical information and data into a readily understandable presentation •Validate authored text to ensure technical and functional accuracy as required. •Incorporate changes as needed in preparation for submitting final draft to appropriate authority or agency for review and final approval. •Track status of technical publication drafts throughout review and approval process. •Support and assist team and department development with continuous improvement objectives. •Contribute support for team governance and sustainable measures. •General project/deliverables management and governance actions. •Other miscellaneous Technical Publication Department coordination activities as needed. •Assist in training less experienced personnel within Technical Publications.
Qualifications REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES OF APPLICANT: •Typically 5-15 years technical publications experience, which must include previous experience with technical manuals and authoring tools. •College diploma in Aerospace or Relevant Military training in aircraft maintenance or relevant field. •Knowledge of worldwide Aviation Technical Documentation specifications and standards (Air Transport Association (ATA), Aerospace Defense Industries Association of Europe (ASD) and Aerospace Industries Association (AIA)). •Must be very customer oriented and focused. •Experience with complex diagrams and schematics. •Proven leadership responsibilities/experience preferred. •Must have good communication (verbal and written) skills. •Strong knowledge and expertise with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel, preferred. Also, must be able to have working knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Access, Project, Visio and Lotus Notes databases. •Demonstrated ability to influence and guide team to achieve an objective or goal. •Must be able to multi-task and maintain project deliverables, timelines to achieve commitments. •Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other business areas, and suppliers. •Must be able to effectively present ideas/suggestions/information/issues to Management as well as to Customers. •Planning and organizational skills necessary to coordinate workload around multiple assignments. Computer skills necessary to operate applications within a Windows environment •Working knowledge of all aircraft systems and structure. •Availability to travel. •Additional desired qualifications: A&P certificate or Pilot's license preferred.
