JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree/equivalent required (aerospace/engineering/ aviation related preferred). Must hold a valid & current FAA commercial pilot certificate W/instructor rating in the a/c class for which a position is offered. Candidate must successfully obtain a/c type rating in assigned a/c. Must hold a valid & current FAA or mil class II Medical certificate at all times while on job. Ten (10) years of experience in av flight operations or Airline/aircraft manufacturing program management required. Min of eight (8) years of flying experience as well as one thousand (1,000) hours pilot-in-command fixed wing jet/multi-engine turbo prop. Pilot or flight engineer experience operating transport category a/c required. Formal Education or occupational experience in program management/operations analysis, Planning and aviation safety or training preferred. Previous experience as an OEM fleet technical pilot preferred. Ability to travel within the FedEx jump seat system. Strong computer, analytical, planning, communication, and interpersonal skills required. Subject to regulatory alcohol and drug testing, which includes testing for marijuana, pcp, amphetamines, cocaine and opiates.
This position is the primary liaison between engineering and flight operations for technical subjects; primary project manager for additions, modification, updates and new aircraft development including next gen or other technical industry initiatives.
Responsible for the implementation of new and existing equipment/aircraft including design, equipment placement, procedures and directives for use; provides data and ensures the technical accuracy of the aircraft flight manuals and minimum equipment lists.
Conducts acceptance flight tests on new equipment and augments the mx flight test program.
Coordinates flight operation, maintenance, engineering and flight training activities as they relate to aircraft systems, equipment configurations and flight and ground operations of the aircraft fleet, to include governmental regulations and aircraft systems.
Defines all elements of operational support requirements including flight technical operations, flight operations engineering, flight standards, operational control and continuing airworthiness programs.
Represents flight operations at industry meetings and events; serves as the primary point of contact for pilots, instructors or management for technical information on company aircraft.
Travel requirement - 25%.
